Bulldogs move
on to Softball
district
championship
game
Saturday
COLFAX — The Colfax Bulldogs softball
team advanced to the
final for the 2B District
7 Softball Tournament
with two decisive victories at home in the
first stages of the tournament. The Championship game will be
played on Saturday,
May 20.
Colfax took on Davenport to start the day,
then finished against
Liberty.
The first game of
the day for the Bulldogs saw them take on
the Davenport Gorillas.
The Bulldogs would go
on to win the game 25-
2 thanks to a 16-run
bottom of the second
inning.
“They did pretty
good. We haven’t played
a game in two weeks,”
Colfax head coach Tracy Imler said.
The Bulldogs were
walked 16 times in the
game and were hit by
two pitches. They also
produced 11 hits in the
game to help them score
their 25 runs.
Brenna Gilchrist had
a two-RBI triple in the
bottom of the second to
help the onslaught of
runs for the Bulldogs.
The second game for
Colfax was against the
Liberty Lancers. Colfax
did not miss a beat from
the morning game, as
they scored runs early
and often as they won
the game 10-0 after five
innings.
Colfax will now head
to Spokane, Washington Saturday to
play against Northwest Christian in the
championship game at
Dwight Merkel Sports
Complex.
The game will be at
3 pm. The loser of that
game will play at 7 p.m.
on Saturday in a final
“winner-to-state” game.
